2010 Gift Guide: Heirloom recipe boxes

These heirloom recipe boxes from Rifle Paper Co. are perhaps my favorite new gift item in store. The beautiful boxes are hand-crafted in Florida (where Rifle Paper Co. is located) using locally salvaged hardwood trees - primarily Sweet Gum, Magnolia Bay and Laurel Oak.

The building process takes 3 months: 1 month for the mill to source the wood, 1 month for the craftsmen to build the boxes by hand and 1 month for the hand-rubbed finish to dry. Finally, the lids of the boxes are screen printed by hand. The result is a gorgeous, unique recipe box that is sure to become a family heirloom for generations to come.

Each box is different and comes beautifully packaged with 12 letterpress printed dividers and 24 recipe cards. Additional, beautifully designed and printed recipe cards are also available to round out the set.

This beautiful box is truly a one-of-a-kind gift for your loved ones. What better way to spread joy and love than by starting family heirloom that can be passed down from generation to generation? Isn't that what the holidays are all about? The kitchen is the heart of home, after all!

Comfort and joy at it's best.

Stamp and send: boxed holiday cards!

(store photos by Mark Davidson Photography)

It's time again to start thinking about your holiday mailing list. Collect those addresses, find that perfect set (or a few different perfect sets!), pour yourself a cup of tea and get to writing!

We have a HUGE (and I mean HUGE) selection of boxed holiday cards - everything from sweet and simple to hip and funky. There is no doubt that one or two will speak to you as you search for that perfect holiday sentiment.

Sending and receiving holiday cards is truly one of my favorite parts about the season. Is there anything more wonderful than receiving snail mail? I don't think so. I so love the ritual of writing a little note to all those people in my life who I, often, haven't kept in touch with as well as I should have throughout the year. I love opening cards and reading sweet notes from friends near and far.

Below - enjoy a little eye candy of just a few of the many, many styles we have in store. And this is just the boxed notes - imagine how many single greeting cards we have, too! Hope to see you soon so you can get to stamping and sending.
