Lovely Libby & Dashing Dean
Not only is this couple absolutely adorable (pretty girl? check! handsome boy? check! ridiculously cute pup? check! check! check!) - but they are some of the nicest people a girl is likely to meet in this big old world. Whit and I had a blast collaborating with them to come up with an invitation suite that reflected the intimate and rustic tone of their upcoming outdoor summer wedding. We're pretty jazzed about the final product, and, hooray!, so are Dean and Libby.
Good luck, friends! Thank you for letting us be a teeny, tiny part of your big day.

Order's up!
(image courtesy of Peddler's)
Must procure one of these doo-dads. Pronto!
Can't you just see it filled with sweet notes left for a bride and groom? Or full of whimsical cards for the birthday girl? Yes. Yes. This will work splendidly.

Inspiration
(photo courtesy of the ever wondrous snippet & ink)
This photo encapsulates everything I want in a wedding, in a guest and in other people's sense of humor.
Sigh.
I bet the potatoes were really great.

See us in action!
Hi Friends! Sorry it's been so long since we last posted new goodies. Boy it's been busy around here for us. Last weekend, we hunkered down at the press and turned out some beautiful work, if we do say so ourselves. La Piece de Resistance for us are our new business cards. Truth be told, we can't stop staring at them. They're pretty fab - photos to come. In the meantime, we thought you might like to see a little video of the old C&P in action.
More time at the press this weekend; can't wait share. Coming up: a sweet and rustic farm wedding invitation suite. Enjoy the weekend!

Cotton tails and cotton paper
{All images courtesy of marthastewart.com}
It's finally feeling like Spring here in Portsmouth. Perfect timing for a weekend of egg hunting, jelly-bean eating, matzo-toffee, family dinners and lots and lots of time at the press. Whitney and I are set to churn out some lovely paper details on the Chandler & Price - photos of the process and product to come next week. Gus and Ruby have a full weekend planned of napping in the sunlight, drinking from the same water bowl, and playing tug'o'war with the hedgehog.
Wishing you and yours a joyous Spring, Easter, Passover, and just-plain-old-fun weekend!
xoxo,

Butter Me Up
{Image courtesy of Twig + Thistle}
In addition to being complete stationery nerds, Whitney and I also have a penchant for buttery, sugary, from-the-oven-lovin' goodies. So, imagine my delight when I stumbled upon these tasty little treats from Twig + Thistle. Hand-held deliciousness + DIY adorbs boxes = a design-hungry, hungry girl's heaven! Couldn't you just eat them up? Literally.

Get out your pens
Tell me your eyes don't light up when you receive a handwritten note in the mail. These days it's rare to receive letters from friends and family. Everything arrives in your in-box and is quickly filed away in its appropriate folder. I want my children and grandchildren to be able to look through my things some day and get a sense of the life I lived. I don't envision them sifting through my gmail account to read my fragmented chats. So Sam and I set out to create sets of personal stationery that are the perfect size for a quick note to a friend. We printed them (letterpress of course) on 100% cotton (tree-free!) paper with vintage wood type. So fun! Get 'em while they're hot!

2 Big Years for the Little Guy!
Don't forget the envelopes!
It's amazing how a beautiful envelope can turn a simple handwritten note into a work of art. And likewise, how an ugly envelope can overshadow the most beautiful card. I am usually drawn to simple solids or rustic kraft. An easy way to spice up envelopes up is by adding cute labels (watch for these later this week) or a matching liner. This weekend I grabbed some scrap pieces of paper and lined a couple of envelopes so I could send some sweet notes along to friends.

It's all in the details
{images on the right courtesy of Handle + Spout}
Along with getting Gus + Ruby up and running, I am also in the process of planning my wedding. The big day is August 15, 2009 and most of the major decisions are made. It's all in the details now. I've been looking at hundreds of photos online trying to figure out what to do with my frizzy, gnarly hair. I think my best bet is to keep it tame in some type of chignon. I am skipping the whole veil thing and looking to put some type of hairpiece in, such as a flower- real or fake. I stumbled across the cutest little company called Handle & Spout a few weeks ago and fell in love with their hairpins. I ordered a few for a test run and at $30 for 3 pins it was totally worth it. Even if I don't wear them for the wedding I can't wait to dress up for work. How cute are they?!!! They also make super cute headbands that I'm not quite sure I can pull off, as well as gorgeous jewelry and nesting dolls... perfect gifts for your bridesmaids!

Color Palette (first draft)
We are diligently working on all aspects of our business. I move from designing wedding invitations to working on the look of this blog to exploring packaging options. Although it's non-stop, I do enjoy the variety of work. This morning I was having designer's block on the 2 projects we are presenting tomorrow so I took a break and laid out our color palette. I love these little projects.

And so it begins
I am drinking my coffee and watching Ruby rest in her favorite chair as she watches the cars drive by. The sun is out but rain is in the forecast. I am so ready for spring!
