It's time for our annual Wish List Soirée!

It's November, so you know that means we are getting ourselves totally jazzed about the upcoming holiday season! We've spent the last few months searching high and low for the best of the best new products to bring into the shop. We do our absolute best to curate a store full of products that we think will inspire you and will bring you joy. We think the months of hard work have paid off and we can't wait for you to see all that we have in-store for this holiday season!

So, what better way to preview and kick-off the season than with our annual

Wish List Event
Thursday, November 20
6:00 - 8:00pm

Just as in years past, we're holding a private shopping soiree for you, our fabulous customers, so that you can see all the new goodies and create a wish-list of your own that we can send to friends/family as a helpful hint. We'll be serving up some yummy nibbles and inspired cocktails from Art in the Age craft spirits and one lucky guest will receive a fabulous door prize - a set of custom letterpress stationery!**

To top it all off, and in case you want to get started checking things off your holiday shopping list a bit earlier this year, you'll also receive 15% OFF* your entire purchase that night, too!

Space is limited to the first 40 people to RSVP, so be sure to RSVP (email hello@gusandruby.com with "Wish List RSVP" in the subject line) right away! We can't wait to jingle and mingle with you as we usher in a joyous holiday season!

*Discount not applicable to custom/special orders, gift certificate or sale items.
** Door prize drawn at random at the end of the night. Winner will be emailed within 2 days of event. Custom stationery consists of 50 1-color letterpress printed flat note-cards and return-address printed envelopes to be designed and printed after January 1st, 2015. Not redeemable for cash.

BYOB: Meriwether of Montana

As the week winds down and we gear up for the last weekend before Christmas, we wanted to give you a few last retail updates so that you can put your best snow boot forward as you visit us downtown to shop. And of course, if you won't be able to visit on foot, don't hesitate to give a call and order your favorite products over the phone and we'll send them via Santa express (his reindeer are ready and waiting!)

So onto the good stuff!

Today I wanted to share with you the story behind these awesome handmade beer carriers from Meriwether of Montana that have been rocking our beer-lovin'-socks since the start of November. Handcrafted in western Montana from local red cedar, each carrier is one of a kind and offers room for up to 6 bottles of beer. Fill yours up with a variety of local craft brews, or leave it empty and let that special someone fill at will! We love these as a gift for a group (a family of beer-lovers, perhaps), or for someone who you know loves to enjoy and share unique beverages at summer BBQs and wooded campsites. Just throw a big red bow on the handle and you're off!

For all those books: Wolfum Bookends

Hey pals!
Happy drizzly, rain, cold, raw, nasty Monday.
What a day, huh?!
How have you been keeping warm and cozy?

We've been chatting cocoa mugs and peppermint marshmallows all day long trying to keep ourselves cheery and in the spirit (see here) ... oh and there was that bit about fresh, Vermont made maple syrup here . There are just so many great little stocking stuffer goodies this year  at Gus & Ruby Letterpress for those you know with a knack for sweet snaking and breakfast treats! Don't you think?!

Are any of you snuggling up with a good book this afternoon?
If so, I have to admit, this post is all for you! I am over the moon for these beautiful, made-in-California, nod-to-vintage-textile-pattern bookends that we just got in from Wolfum in all sorts of fun animal silhouettes. I first saw these at a lovely little beach-side store in San Diego, and they're honestly so fun that I wish I could get them for everyone on my holiday shopping list this year.

Pick up a single end... or better yet, a pair! For anyone on your list who lives for a good book or who has eclectic taste when it comes to home decor and interior design - these thoughtfully handcrafted pieces are a great gift idea. They could also be such a fun inspiration piece for a future mama- or papa-to-be for a baby nursery or children's bedroom! Each unique book end is just the right size and  comes in a different bright, beautiful pattern - not to mention they're all made from sustainable resources in the U.S.A. What's not to love?

There are only have a handful of patterns still in stock for these pretties, so if you like the idea for someone on your shopping list, don't wait too long to be in touch!

And happy reading. Snuggling. Cocoa sipping. Grilled-cheese-in-Cauliflower-soup-dipping.
Just have a cozy evening, ok?
Lots of hugs -
XO Lizzy

Now In Store: BKR water bottles

Hey there pals!

Needless to say, we have been inundated with AMAZING new product the past couple of weeks as UPS and FedEx shipments keep rolling in and piling up the boxes. It's holiday cheer time, and today we're previewing a beautiful, bright and eco-friendly line of water bottles (made in the USA, of course) that are just too pretty to pass up for your holiday gift list.

With a silicone sleeve (eco-friendly and no-slip grip) and a handle built for easy carry, BKR ("beaker") water bottles are the answer to old Nalgene bottles that smell like... well... that don't smell so fresh anymore. These water bottles come in a fun palette of neons and hyper-saturated colors that are the perfect match for ladies of all ages AND the bottles are made of glass so they're the BEST replacement for any plastic water bottles you may currently be using. Plus, because they're glass they're 100% re-usable, recyclable, BPA and phthalate free, and they'll never absorb the scent of what you put in them.

I love that BKR bottles are also a comfortable 16 ounce bottle - not too big, but not too small.

Tuck one of these suckers in the toe-space of some lovely lady's stocking and you best believe she'll be smiling this holiday season! Or fill one with candies and tie a bow on the cap for that special someone at the office who you love to lunch with! No matter the recipient these BKRs are a surefire holiday gift idea for 2013!

For the Bitties: Finkelstein stuffies

Happy Monday gang!

Can you believe that Turkey day is only a few days away? My, how the days are moving right along!

Today I want to share with you one of our FAVORITE new lines in the shop for holiday gift-giving this year. Born and stuffed in the great state of South Carolina, Finkelstein's is a quirky, sweet, and stylish line of stuffed creatures (stuffies, for short!) handmade by the amazingly talented and oober creative Michelle Jewell. Apartment Therapy did a fab write-up of her, and her space that you can read here. Between her inspiring studio, and the quality and coziness of the handi-dandy creatures she sent along for our shop this holiday, you could say I'm a HUGE fan of Michelle's operation. I am sure you will be too once you hold one of the Fink's in your own two hands. They're the sweetest... and a great holiday gift for any little boy or girl this holiday season!

Have a wonderful afternoon, and come in to meet the Fink's soon, k?
xoxo Lizzy
